Lonely Planet’s travel experts list Cincinnati in its annual list of "top 10 underrated, rejuvenated and out-of-this-world spots to visit in 2018".

Cincinnati - Lonely Planet 2018 "Best in the US"

"Cincinnati has always been a looker."

Lonely Planet is the biggest travel guide published in the world, covering the most exotic and desired destinations from wall-to-wall and sea-to-sea. This year, Cincinnati landed on the company's Best in the U.S. list of top destinations to visit in 2018.

The honor, which comes as The New York Times has also tagged the Queen City as a must-see place to check out this year, puts Cincinnati the #5 spot on its rundown (between Florida's Space Coast and Maine's Midcoast), referencing the city's burgeoning beer culture, strong arts scene and revitalized neighborhoods in its choice.

Among the top attractions in the article are the city's Brewing Heritage Trail, which tells the fascinating tale of Cincy's long and storied beer history, including a stop at the hopping Rhinegeist brewery and the many other craft beer makers in the walkable Over-the-Rhine neighborhood. Come for the beer and the lovingly revitalized Music Hall and Cincinnati Shakespeare Company, stay for "ornate brick buildings, fresh eateries and funky shops," the site suggests.
